Privacy

Short version: no analytics, no ads, no tracking cookies, no third-party scripts. The only personal data we hold is your email address if you subscribe.

The tools

The Window Light Planner, the plant checker and the converter run entirely in your browser. What you type (your city, your window) is not sent to us. The planner puts your settings in the page address so you can share a result; that address stays on your device unless you share it.

The newsletter

If you subscribe to Your Window This Month, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, the time, and whether you confirmed. We use it only to send the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all emails. We never sell or share the list.

Subscriber records are kept in our own database on our server (hosted by Vultr in London). Emails, including the confirmation email, are sent through Brevo, an email service, so your address is passed to Brevo for sending. Brevo may record whether an email was opened or a link clicked. With each signup we also keep a short hashed code made from your IP address and browser, used only to block repeat signups and abuse; it can't be turned back into your IP address.

Server logs

Our web server does not keep access logs of the pages you visit. The server's own system logs, used to keep it running and secure, may briefly include technical details such as an IP address and are rotated automatically within a few weeks.

Fonts and other files

All fonts, scripts and images are served from this site. Nothing is loaded from Google or any other third party.
